The Dental Council is the statutory body constituted under the Dental Act of 1972 for maintaining self-regulation of the dental professions.

Our primary role is to promote and protect the public interest by ensuring that oral health practitioners are safe and competent to practise.

Dental Exam Proposed Dates for 2017

The next dates for the dental council exam and dental hygiene exam will be as follows:

 

  • May 18 - 20, 2017

  • July 26 - 28, 2017

 

 

 

 

 

Note: Dates are subject to change but you will be notified of any changes

 

Registration for July 2017 Dental Council Exam and Dental Hygiene Exam is open. 

 

Deadline to apply to the council: June 9, 2017

 

All fees must be paid to the dental council in order to be eligible to sit the exam before June 9.

The payment arrangement for the issuing of Practicing Certificates has not changed for the past two years and continues as follows:

1.      The fee for the said Practicing Certificate is J$20,000.0 for          the  two (2) year period 1/4/2017-30/3/2019.

2.      Payments can be made:

a.       at the Office of the Dental Council of Jamaica, 50 Half Way

          Tree Road, Kingston 5 (cash or cheque), or

b.      Any First Global Bank to the following account;

               i.      New Kingston Branch

              ii.      Account Number 1032564

c.       Once the payment is made at the respective bank, copy            the said payment advice (bank deposit slip) and upload it          to: jamaicadentalcouncil@gmail.com. or physically forward  evidence of such payment to the Office of the Dental Council.

BULLETIN

Practising Certificate 

Auxiliaries practicing in Jamaica as of January 1, 2018 will need to obtain Annual Practicing Certificates.

 

Auxiliaries will need to complete 30 hours of continuing education credits over a two-year period.
